Preserving personal privacy or corporate secrets is becoming increasingly difficult in a world where most information is stored digitally. In addition, a growing use of network connection increases the risk of your data being accessed by intruders. Furthermore, any action you do on your computer is very likely to leave traces of your activity: like opening photos, editing documents or visiting a website.

One Click Privacy is an application intended to protect your privacy. The program interface makes it quite easy to use right away. In fact, the available online help may be unnecessary for most users. The left menu panel will give you instant access to most functions. It will scan your computer to find footprints of your activity and let you decide which ones to keep or erase. The software offers two scan levels: quick scan and default scan, but you can also create a custom scan to specifically fit your needs. You may also decide to schedule systematic scans at a specific time on a given day of the week.

The software also helps you take precautions against intruders trying to access your deleted data. In this respect, the application offers to shred the data you want to delete forever. Three shred levels are available: quick, safe and thorough. For example, a thorough shred, the maximum level of security, will carry out seven overwrite passes on the data. You can do this from the program’s Shredder but a right-click on the Recycle Bin will let you shred the data as well.

One Click Privacy also keeps statistics of your actions, listing the name of items, the total quantities of files found and cleaned as well as the amount of disk space recovered.
